Meet the Program Leadership

Dr. Sangha
Chairman
Roopina Sangha, MD, MPH, CPE, FACOG
OB/GYN

Dr. Roopina Sangha earned her medical degree from the top medical school in India, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. She completed her OBGYN residency in Detroit, MI, at Henry Ford Hospital and later served as the Program Director for Henry Ford Hospital OBGYN Residency for 8 years and was the Chair of Graduate Medical Education. She was named as one of Detroit's "Top Docs" by Hour Detroit Magazine from 2016-2019. She has been awarded numerous national teaching awards including ACOG Mentor of the Year Award in 2017. She also serves as an oral examiner for the American Board of OBGYN. Dr. Sangha also earned her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Delta Omega Scholar. Dr. Sangha is the Senior Physician Executive of the Women and Infants Service Line for the Acclaim Physician group and the Chairman for the Department of OBGYN at JPS. She is a Professor at the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine and an Affiliate Professor at UNTHSC, TCOM. Her goal is to provide competent, compassionate care while developing evidence-based treatment plans. She emphasizes a patient-centered approach that informs her research for which she has received many grants.

Dr. Carson
Vice Chairman
Stephanie Carson-Henderson, MD, FACOG
OB/GYN

Dr. Stephanie Carson-Henderson is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in OBGYN at John Peter Smith in Fort Worth, Texas. After 10 years in private practice, Dr. Carson-Henderson joined the faculty at JPS in 2013. She is an Assistant Professor at the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine and an Affiliate Assistant Professor at UNTHSC, TCOM. Dr. Carson-Henderson serves on the Acclaim Physician Board of Directors, is the Medical Director of the JPS Health Center for Women Main, and is the Vice-Chair of the Department of OBGYN at JPS.

Program Director
Christine Hoang, MD, FACOG
OB/GYN

Dr. Christine Hoang received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in OBGYN at John Peter Smith in Fort Worth and became faculty at JPS in 2015. She was appointed Associate Program Director in 2018 and serves as the Program Director since 2020. She also served as a reproductive system course director and a student advisory and research mentor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine from 2016-2020. She remains an Assistant Professor at UNTHSC, TCOM and is a Assistant Professor the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine. She was a recipient of the Philip Bailey Award for dedication to academic medicine and professionalism in 2018 and was named one of Fort Worth's "Top Docs" by Fort Worth West Magazine in 2019. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has interests in minimally invasive surgery, adolescent gynecologic health, and global health.
