Shelly Howard had heard how wonderful JPS Health Network was when she first moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Previous coworkers told her what a great place this was and she made the decision to join the JPS team in June of 2016.
Howard started as an RN Team Lead at Stop Six-Walter B. Barbour Health Center and eventually moved up to RN Clinical Manager. She now serves as Practice Manager at Medical Home Northeast Tarrant where she leads the operations of the medical home, managing the staff and creating the best care experience for JPS patients.
“When I found the posting for the Team Lead position at Stop Six, I felt it was a position that would allow me to continue my leadership journey,” says Howard. “Once I started, I realized that JPS is where I was meant to be.”
She says it’s the people that keep her here. Howard recognizes that her staff, this organization, the patients, and the resources provided by JPS are all factors in her growth.
“Personally, I feel I have matured significantly since coming here. JPS has taught me how to be the best leader I can be.”
