Getting to JPS

JPS Health Network

Are you coming to John Peter Smith Hospital? There are many ways to get here, whether you’re driving, hopping on a bus, taking two wheels or your own two feet! We’ve put together a few tips to help our patients and visitors navigate the Main Campus.

Driving to JPS?

  • Patients and visitors to JPS have several options for parking. The parking garage at the Main Hospital is at 1500 S. Main St., Fort Worth. Access it from Allen Avenue and Saint Louis Street. The Patient Care Pavilion garage is at 1575. S. Main St., Fort Worth. Access it from Main Street and St. Joseph Court.
  • Garage parking is free if you drive out of the garage within 30 minutes. Otherwise the cost is $4.
  • If you are coming to the JPS Emergency Department, the closest garage is at 1575. S. Main St., Fort Worth.
  • Designated disabled parking spaces in the garages are located closest to the elevators. Disabled parking is available in every JPS parking lot.

Parking Services has a volume discount parking pass program available to all JPS visitors and patients. The passes do not have an expiration date and can be used at the JPS parking garages at 1500 S. Main St., Fort Worth and at the Patient Care Pavilion, 1575 S. Main St., Fort Worth.

The cost is $10 for five passes or $20 for ten passes; a significant discount off the regular price of $4 each. One pass is used each time you drive out of the parking garages. Passes can be purchased at the Parking Services Office, on the first floor of the garage at 1500 S. Main St. It is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. They take cash and major credit and debit cards.

Coming by bicycle?

  • The City of Fort Worth has added new dedicated bicycle lanes and turn lanes on Allen Avenue west of Interstate 35W. The street has been restriped to make it easier for people walking and biking in the area.
  • Lock up your bike to keep it safe while you are inside JPS. Find bike racks located on the first floor of the parking garages at the Main Hospital at 1500 S. Main St., Fort Worth, and the Patient Care Pavilion at 1575. S. Main St., Fort Worth.
  • Bike racks located in the valet area in front of the Main Hospital have locks already attached for visitors to use. When you’re ready to leave JPS, go to the Police Department Administration office on the first floor and ask for assistance. A JPS team member will unlock your bike. The office is located just past the revolving doors and across from the information desk.
  • Please do not park your bike in non-designated areas or bring your bicycle into any of the JPS buildings.

Taking the bus?

  • Bus routes 4 and 5 provide service to JPS, stopping along Main Street and along Allen Avenue. Route 5 has no service on Sundays and major holidays.
  • The T has a handy Trip Planner tool to find the best bus stop, route and schedule to take you to JPS.
  • Pick up printed schedules for the buses that serve JPS at the first floor information desks at the Main Hospital and Patient Care Pavilion.
