December 8th, 2017

Dec. 8, 2017 — JPS team members rolled up their sleeves to help meet holiday season demand for blood and blood products in critically short supply, supporting lifesaving care for 90 hospital patients.

The sixth blood drive of the year on November 30 produced 30 units of blood, according to Carter BloodCare’s Judy Smith. Those units were separated into red cells, plasma and platelets to help 90 patients.

“Thank you to the good people of John Peter Smith Hospital for once again helping us maintain the community blood supply,” Smith said. “Running this drive the week following Thanksgiving was crucial to helping us replenish supplies.”
