James Pennington Joins JPS as Chief Information Officer


James Pennington has joined JPS Health Network as Chief Information Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing information technology strategies that support JPS' strategic mission and objectives.

Prior to joining JPS, Pennington served as Assistant Vice President/Chief Information Officer at Blue Ridge Healthcare in Morganton, North Carolina, a community health system consisting of two hospitals, three long-term care centers and multiple physician-owned offices. He was responsible for the overall vision, strategic direction and ongoing enterprise-wide coordination of information technology. Prior to that, he served in a similar role at Arkansas Heart Hospital.

Pennington holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
