Kristin Jenkins Named Young Healthcare Executive of the Year


The DFW Hospital Council (DFWHC) has named Kristin Jenkins, Senior Vice President/Administrator JPS Diagnostic & Surgery Hospital of Arlington (DSHA), Young Healthcare Executive of the Year. Jenkins was honored November 2 during the Annual Awards Luncheon at the Arlington Convention Center.

Jenkins is a graduate of Texas Christian University and she holds a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After concentrating on healthcare law in the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office, she joined JPS Health Network in 1998. She has held positions as Compliance Officer and Compliance Quality Officer before taking on her current position. During her tenure, she has supervised the DSHA expansion, helped establish the JPS Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center in Arlington as a joint effort with the University of North Texas Health Science Center and helped the JPS Physician Group grow from eight to more than 120 physicians.

First presented in 2005, the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year award honors initiatives and accomplishments of a promising young healthcare executive during the early stages of their career. Nominations are made by area hospital chief executive officers and the winners are chosen by the DFWHC Board.
