Where will you go?
When it’s time for your surgery, your O.R. Nurse and Anesthesia Team will escort you to the operating room. The operating room is home to us, but we understand it may be scary to you. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the room or equipment to ease your mind.
What will happen?
You will be placed upon a bed designed specifically for surgery. The anesthesia and surgical teams will make sure you are comfortable and then explain the steps taken as you prepare to go to sleep.
During surgery, your family will be updated each hour. In addition, your designated family member or friend will be given a Surgery Update Monitor card. This card explains how to read the large monitors in the waiting area and watch for updates on how your surgery is progressing.
