Auditors: $105.00 (Auditors may include RN or EMT-P only)

 

Course Schedule: 

Day 1: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Day 2: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

 

Course Information 

  • Course manual, schedule and map will be sent to each student approximately one month prior to the course and after receipt of registration form and fees.
  •  Room temperature may vary. Please bring a sweater.
  •  Continental breakfast and lunch are provided.

Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Refresher Blitz Course

2015 Course Date: 

April 17

 

Course Fees: 

$355.00

 

Course Schedule: 

9:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m.

In order to sign-up for the ATLS Refresher Course, registrants must have successfully completed the ATLS course within the past 4 years or be less than 6 months expired by the course dates requested. A copy of the previous ATLS card is required for verification purposes.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: 

Registration fee will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received 10 days or more prior to course. Nonrefundable cancellation fee of $50.00 will be retained for any cancellation less than 10 days prior to the course. Refunds will be given only after course materials have been returned. No refunds or rescheduling for unexpected no-shows or cancellations less than three (3) business days prior to course.

Weather Cancellations: 

If the Fort Worth Independent School District cancels classes due to weather, the scheduled course will also be cancelled. Participants will be contacted for transfer to a later course.

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)

 

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) is an advanced course designed for the registered nurse interested in increasing his/her knowledge in management of the multiple trauma patients. The ATCN course is taught concurrently with ATLS. The nurse participants audit the ATLS lectures. During the ATLS skill and testing stations, the nurses are separated from the physician group and directed through ATCN skill stations. ATCN Skill stations include:

  • Initial Assessment and Management
  • Airway and Ventilatory Management
  • Pediatric Trauma
  • Hemorrhagic Shock
  • Musculoskeletal & Spinal Trauma
  • Head Trauma

The Skill stations are based on an interactive "hands-on: scenario-based approach" to adult education. The practical testing stations allow the ATCN students to demonstrate the application of ATLS and ATCN information on a moulaged patient. Participants receive both an ATCN manual and an ATLS manual.

Trauma Nurse Core Course

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is an internationally standardized, interactive course sponsored by ENA (Emergency Nurses Association). It is designed for Registered Nurses and integrates the trauma nursing process into the content, which provides the learner with core level knowledge and psychomotor skill experience. TNCC certification is good for 4 years.

Highlights Include: 

  • Abdominal, pediatric and pregnancy in trauma
  • Airway and ventilation interventions
  • Initial assessment and shock
  • Spinal immobilization
  • Chest trauma and traction splinting

$180 - Auditors for CE only (LVN, EMT-P)

$200 - JPS RNs for Provider Certification and CE

Trauma Care After Resuscitation

Unlike trauma verification programs targeted at prehospital and emergency care providers, the Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) course is specifically designed for acute care, critical care, and perioperative nurses.  This live, 2-day educational offering provides inpatient staff members with the foundational, evidence-based information and critical thinking skills necessary to meet regulatory requirements and provide excellent care to this challenging patient population.
