Brian B. Carpenter, DPM, received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and his podiatric medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His surgical training was completed at The Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, MA, which is affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Carpenter's fellowship was completed at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA, and a Mini Fellowship in Plastic Surgery with Dr. Francis Wolfort in Boston. Dr. Carpenter has published numerous academic articles and has presented his research at national conferences and is a national speaker. He possesses extensive academic and clinical experience in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction and Trauma. He is past president with the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. Currently, Dr. Carpenter has been appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the board of the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. He is the Director of Podiatric Residency Training and Chairman of the Division of Podiatry at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX. He is a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons with Certifications in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. He practices within the Orthopedic Department at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth Texas, and in private practice in Decatur, Texas.

Alan Garrett D.P.M. 

 

Alan Garrett, DPM 

Alan Garrett, DPM joined the faculty at the John Peter Smith Hospital Orthopedic and Podiatry Residency Program in 2005. Dr. Garrett specializes in medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Dr. Garrett was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated high school in Odessa, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University, receiving a B.S. degree in Biomedical Science. In 2002, Dr. Garrett graduated from the College of Podiatric Medical Science in Des Moines, Iowa and began internship/residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Garrett opened his private practices in Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas in 2005. He is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and member of the Texas and American Podiatric Medical Associations.

Travis Motley D.P.M.

 

Travis Motley, DPM
Dr. Motley was born in Mineral Wells, Texas, and completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University in Biology and Chemistry in 1993. In 1995, he earned his Masters degree in Biology. Dr. Motley completed medical school at Des Moines University – College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in 2000. He then completed a 3 year surgical residency at John Peter Smith Hospital, serving as Chief Resident from 2001 – 2003. Immediately after, he joined the JPS Orthopedic Department/Podiatry Section as an attending physician. Dr. Motley remains active in resident education, basic science research and surgical outcome studies. He is an AO North America faculty member and currently serves as President of the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. His practice focuses on foot and ankle trauma, diabetic foot reconstruction, correction of forefoot and rearfoot deformities, and wound care.
