CRITICAL CARE COURSES

ACLS PROVIDER

This two-day course provides the participant with the knowledge and confidence to function rapidly and effectively during cardiac emergencies.

Current Tuition: $150 for public and free for employees

Class Time: 9 am - 5 pm (both days)

2008 Class Dates: Jan. 15 & 22, Mar. 18 & 25, May 13 & 20, July 15 & 22, Sept. 16 & 23 and Nov. 11 & 18

ACLS RENEWAL

This one-day course is to review ACLS knowledge/skills and learn any changes that have been incorporated by the AHA.

Current Tuition: $75 for public and free for employees

Class Time: 9 am - 5 pm

2008 Class Dates: Jan. 8, Feb. 12, Mar. 11, May 6, June 10, July 8, Aug. 19, Sept. 9 and Nov. 25

ACLS INSTRUCTOR

This course is for ACLS providers interested in becoming ACLS instructors. Current Tuition: $175 for public and free for employees with signed contract to teach.

Class Times: Day 1 (9 am - 5 pm)

Class Dates: Feb. 26 & Oct. 21

*BLS (BASIC CPR)

This is the AHA course "C" for any health care provider.

Current Tuition: $45 (public) Offered at no cost to JPS employees

BLS INSTRUCTOR

This course is designed for BLS providers interested in becoming BLS instructors. Tuition includes BLS textbook, BLS Instructor manual, Heartsaver guide.

Current Tuition: $175 for public and free for employees with signed contract to teach.

CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION

PRECEPTOR WORKSHOP

Nurses can use the course to prepare to preceptor new employees. Topics include adult learning theory, teaching strategies, conflict resolution and reality shock. (Lunch is provided first day.)
