The Diagnostic Radiology Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital is an accredited program leading to certification by the American Osteopathic Board of radiology. The program requires an initial year of transitional internship followed by four years of dedicated training in radiology.

Radiology residents are exposed to a high volume of studies in a busy county hospital and trauma center. Residents rotate through all basic areas or radiology sub specialization under the guidance of radiology staff and senior residents. A few rotations are done outside of the main facility to provide better exposure in areas such as Pediatric radiology.
