Obstetrics & Gynecology

Welcome

Thank you for looking at our JPS Hospital District Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Our program is a fully accredited four year training program with training at both John Peter Smith Hospital and Harris-Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

Our mission is to train residents to become both caring, compassionate clinicians and excellent surgeons.  We encourage an environment of cooperation and support in an effort to achieve both clinical and academic success.  Our residents have the opportunity to train with a diverse population, state of the art minimally-invasive technology, and an array of research opportunities.

We currently have 16 residents in our program.  All of our residents are actively involved in patient care, surgery and education.  The program encourages independent thought in a challenging atmosphere.

The faculty and residents at our program are here because they want to provide care to the underserved, see a large range of pathology, learn and work in a friendly environment.  We stress teamwork and work to see that every one of our residents completes the program ready to competently practice Ob/Gyn.

Again, thank you for your interest in our program.

Sincerely,

David J. Moreland, MD, FACOG
Program Director
John Peter Smith Hospital (Tarrant County Hospital District) Program
