Family Medicine

Program Overview

As the largest Family Medicine program in the country, we are transforming talent into purpose-driven care, built on a legacy of excellence and driven by innovation. Our graduates practice full-service family medicine in nearly every state across the U.S. and in numerous countries worldwide. They serve their communities in a vast array of practice settings including: rural, suburban, international, inner city, and academic centers. Our graduates are also recognized as leaders at the local, state, and national levels.

JPS is known for outstanding clinical experience and unparalleled procedural training. Our rigorous academic instruction has consistently led to record-breaking scores on the American Board of Family Medicine In-Training Examination over the past two decades, and a growing number of our alumni now serve as residency faculty nationwide.

We are passionate about the future of Family Medicine. Since 2006, JPS has been at the forefront of curriculum innovation through leadership in the P4 Initiative and the Length of Training Pilot. Our goal is to meet the evolving needs of the communities our graduates serve. We believe a personalized approach to resident education, offering three or four years of training, produces exceptional physicians., That commitment continues through our participation in the ACGME’s AIRE project (Advancing Innovation in Residency Education).
