At JPS Health Network, our employees are our most valuable asset and we are committed to supporting your wellness and quality of life. The JPS benefits plan is designed to meet the diverse needs of our team members and their families.
JPS benefits are available to full- and part-time employees. Full-time employees work 36-40 hours per week and part-time employees work a minimum of 20 hours per week and less than 36 hours per week.
Your eligible dependents include:
- Your legally married spouse
- Your dependent children from birth to age 26
- Your dependent children who are totally disabled
- Your dependent children for whom you are legally responsible
Dependent coverage takes effect on the same date your coverage begins. You must provide evidence your dependents meet the eligibility requirements, such as birth certificates, adoptions or guardianship papers, a marriage license or a federal income tax return.
JPS offers two medical plans through Cigna with three network options each (JPS Health Network, Cigna Open Access Plus Network and Out-of-Network). Both plans are PPO based and include both copay and coinsurance benefits. Prescription drug benefits are included. Offered through MaxorPlus, prescription plans include copays for their formulary list of prescription drugs.
Two dental plans are offered, both of which are administered by Cigna. The plans are a Dental PPO and a Dental HMO. Both cover preventive, basic, major and orthodontia services.
There are three vision plans offered and administered by VSP. All three plans offer coverage for annual exams, glasses, contacts and frames.
Employee Health Clinic
Our employees’ health and well-being is one of our highest priorities. JPS health plan covered employees and their dependents can take advantage of a clinic designed to offer a primary care medical home to those who request it, or sick care to those who need it. The clinic’s physician and nurse practitioner health care team are focused solely on the health and wellness of our covered employees and their families.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
JPS pays the full cost of basic coverage at one times the base annual earnings up to a maximum of $1,000,000. Additional coverage for employees and their dependents is available for purchase. Voluntary Universal Life is also available for purchase and allows for cash accumulation, long-term care and living benefits.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Our employees have the opportunity to participate in FSAs to help cover out-of-pocket medical, dental, prescription, vision and dependent care expenses. You can contribute up to $2,500 in the Healthcare FSA and up to $5,000 in the Dependent Care FSA.
Short-Term Disability is available to purchase. Long-Term Disability is fully paid by JPS.
Cancer and Critical Illness
Employees may purchase policies to provide assistance upon diagnosis of a covered illness.
JPS Health Network is proud to offer three different retirement plans to help employees save for their retirement. These plans are the JPS Pension Plan, 403b Plan and a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
JPS offers an EAP to eligible employees and their household members, which provides confidential assistance and solutions to everyday problems such as health, personal, family or work-related challenges.

TravelConnect is a program offered at no cost to our employees and their covered dependents through MEDEX. The program provides a wealth of travel, medical and safety-related services when traveling 100 miles or more from home (personal or business).
BeneficiaryConnect, offered by Lincoln Financial through Besinger, DuPont & Associates, provides free beneficiary assistance for employees and their families after the loss of a loved one.
Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU)
Membership is available upon employment. EECU offers services including savings accounts, checking accounts, loans, IRAs, etc.
JPS offers tuition reimbursement to eligible employees seeking to enhance their job skills and knowledge through formal education from approved schools.
The T transit E-Pass is available to all employees for unlimited transportation on all DART rail, TRE rail, trolleys and T buses. Purchase vouchers are discounted at 25%.
LegacyCare is a one-stop shopping approach to the real estate process, providing a discount on services and providers, such as a real estate agency, mortgage specialist, inspector, appraiser and title company.
