Unique Aspects of the Program
Transitional residents have a broad exposure on all services and
interact with senior residents and faculty. They are the first to see
the patient and participate in the management and procedures for all
patients. Our training program is a hands-on type of program. Call
averages every 5th day and there is quality supervision and teaching on
all services. Each resident typically works one on one with a third or
fourth year medical student.
A resident who matches in this program can arrange subsequent years
of training either individually outside the match or by listing our
PGY-1 program under the supplement list for year one and the career
choice PGY-2 year under the Primary Rank Order List. The NRMP program
number for transitional is 1711999P1.
