Affordable Care Act

There are many ways to sign up for health insurance. 

JPS Connection members can sign up for a Healthcare Exchange insurance plan today by phone or online instead of visiting a JPS Eligibility and Enrollment financial counselor.

Due to the Affordable Care Act deadline, we are experiencing extremely high demand for help from our financial counselors. Lines and wait times are very long. We want you to know there are other ways you can comply with the Affordable Care Act and protect your JPS Connection membership. You do not have to visit JPS Eligibility and Enrollment.

If you have Medicare, no action is required. You do not need to call or come to JPS Eligibility and Enrollment.

If you have already signed up for health insurance or found out that you don't need to, you have done everything you need to do at this time. Please call or visit the Eligibility and Enrollment after April1, 2014.

Below are some additional options that may help you.

» You can find out if you are eligible for new insurance by going to the government's websites at or you find that you are not eligible, you do not need to call or visit JPS Eligibility and Enrollment until your JPS Connection expires.

» If you are eligible for insurance, you can sign up for it on the website. If you sign up yourself, you do not need to visit JPS Eligibility and Enrollment until your insurance becomes effective.

» You can apply for insurance by phone at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY:1-855-889-4325) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A customer service representative will work with you to complete your application.

» The United Way has a health insurance hotline, where you can ask for an appointment with a financial counselor to  help you. Call 817-258-8188. 

We are working hard to help as many people as possible and apologize for the Long wait times. JPS Eligibility and Enrollment offices are open Monday-Friday,8 4 p.m., for walk-in appointments. The JPS Eligibility and Enrollment office at 1325 S. Main Street in Fort Worth will be open on Saturday, March 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
