Crisis Stabilization Unit
This 12-bed, 96 hour stabilization program provides intervention to those over the age of 18 who do not meet criteria for inpatient psychiatric care but are experiencing problems that could escalate to a point of requiring hospitalization. Crisis resolution and individualized structured therapeutic activities are provided to patients within a social rehabilitation treatment model.
Services often include:
- Psychiatric evaluations
- Physical examinations
- Blood tests and imaging
- Needs assessment to identify the stressors leading to the current crisis
- Crisis intervention and resolution
- Psychopharmacologic evaluation and management
- Crisis-oriented family therapy and psychoeducation
- Group and individual therapies focused on problem management and coping skills, acute life stressors, psychiatric disorders, medication and recovery
- Case management and collaboration with the patient's outpatient clinician, physicians, family and community agencies to facilitate an integrated approach and establish comprehensive transition plans
