Women Infants Children Nurse
Women's, Infants, and Children's department provides care for all stages of life in the health of women, infants and pediatrics. JPS has achieved the Texas Ten Step Program designation through the Texas Department of Health for its commitment to breast feeding of newborns. JPS acknowledges the UNICEF and World Health Organizations call for an increase in the knowledge in the benefits of breastfeeding and is actively supporting that message.
OB Triage
The OB Triage unit is an emergency room that serves the needs for women's health care issues in an emergency room setting. There are 10 beds with a real time ultrasound system, central surveillance system and is currently serving more than 1,200 patients per month.
Labor & Delivery
Labor and Delivery is a newly remodeled area at JPS with 15 LDR suites, two Operating Room suites that have the capacity to care for the whole spectrum of the labor/delivery process. This unit has a state of the art medical surveillance system with each private room possessing a computer station. The system manages fetal and maternal telemetry and is capable of an entire charting package. The nursing employees here are trained to work the OB Triage area, Labor and Delivery, and learn surgical technique as all OB surgical cases are done in this area. All employees are trained in specialty skills pertinent to Labor and Delivery. It is a high volume area serving approximately 450 patients per month.

Family Care Center
The Family Care Center is a unit that provides for mother and baby care. There is a central nursery, however rooming-in is encouraged for all of our new mothers. Family Care nurses specialize in the care of new mothers learning to care for their new infants.
Ante-Partum/Gyn
The Ante-Partum/Gynecological Unit is an area that is currently utilized to serve all antepartum in-house patients and the gynecological needs of the community.

NICU
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has an average census of 25 infants. This unit is a Level III NICU, and maintains a high level of acuity for the infants it serves. Nurses are specialized in the intensive care of the neonate through core classes that advance as the skills of the nurse advance throughout his/her career.

Pediatrics
Pediatrics is a unit that is specialized in the pediatric health care needs of the community. It is a wonderfully bright and cheery area to develop your nursing career.
| The JPS Pediatric Clinic is an extremely busy and rewarding place to work. The current average visits runs at approximately 1,000 patients monthly. The clinic is a very patient positive experience with many specialized pediatric services offered or accessed through the clinic. |
